Majó rika, born in 1994 in Poznań, works in sound art, installations, community art, public space interventions, and music performances. The focus lies in exploring the interactions between sound, space, and materiality. By integrating natural materials, everyday objects, spatial sound techniques, the work results in immersive experiences that reshape perception in public and site-specific environments. Drawing from deep listening practices and research-based inquiry, rika’s work examines sound as both a meditative and analytical subject, inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ research. The work seeks to explore how acoustic interventions transform public spaces and how improvisational and collective processes create new auditory experiences.

In 2022, Rika completed studies at HBK Saar, where she also worked as a master’s student in the field of sound art. Rika both developed and conducted a workshop called “Atmosphären schaffen.” The main goal of this workshop was to investigate and understand the different factors or elements that contribute to creating specific atmospheres in various environments or spaces. Rika received scholarships from the Deutschlandstipendium, the Musikfonds, and the Goethe-Institut.

The thought of unity in nature triggers in me the desire to express it in my art.

majó rika is a co-founder of the sonic ecology art and research group r.o.a.r. and the sound art group Meta, collaborates with Karen Fritz in a duo known as “Misty Noise”, and is part of the kollektiv eigenklang.
